UDO Object Promotion

The following shows
the detail steps needed to promote a UDO object using Object Management
Workbench (OMW) Web application (P98220W).
Example of UDO object used in this document is a Grid Format object.

1.
Enable Security Access
to UDO Objects and enable access to both the OMW Web application (P98230W) and
Work With User Defined Object application (P98220U) in Security Workbench
(P00950).

Ensure Allowed Actions
and Transfer Activity Rules are set up in Object Management Configuration
application (P98230) for UDO objects. Refer to Document E1: OMWWEB: Standard
Transfer Activity Rules and Allowed Actions Settings for User Defined Objects

After user has created
a grid format in JDV environment, share the UDO object using P98220U. See Question
8. How to share or apply an UDO for a particular user or role? in
Document E1: OMWWEB: Frequently Asked Questions On User Defined Objects
(UDOs) (Doc ID
2068939.1) This Grid format can then be promoted from DV to PY and
then to PD using OMW Web application (P98200W).

Log in to the web
client in JDV environment.

Enter P98220W in fast
path.

In Object Management Workbench - Web form, first create an OMW Project. Click
the Add (+) button.
- In Create EnterpriseOne Object form, select OMW Project in General Object field drop down list.
- Click OK button.
- In Project Revisions form, fill in the Project ID, Type, Severity, Product System Code and Release fields. You can fill in the fields in the other tabs if needed : Dates, Category Codes, Attachments.
- Click OK button.
- In Create EnterpriseOne Object form, select OMW Project in General Object field drop down list.
- Click OK button.
- In Project Revisions form, fill in the Project ID, Type, Severity, Product System Code and Release fields. You can fill in the fields in the other tabs if needed : Dates, Category Codes, Attachments.
- Click OK button.

Back in Object Management Workbench - Web form, click Find button and locate the
OMW Project that was created in Step 6.

Select the checkbox
beside the grid row for your project.

Ensure you have 06-PVC Administrator Role in your project.
- Select the Project Members tab above the bottom grid.
- Select the checkbox beside your User ID and click on Change Role button.
- On Project User Details form, enter 06 in User Role field and click OK.
- Select the Project Members tab above the bottom grid.
- Select the checkbox beside your User ID and click on Change Role button.
- On Project User Details form, enter 06 in User Role field and click OK.

Add the UDO object
into your project.
- Click on the Project Objects tab above the bottom grid.
- Click on the Add Existing Object button.
- In Add Object to Project form, select the UDO object type from the User Defined Object drop down list. In this example, select Grid Format.
- Click OK button.
- In Web Objects Search & Select form, find and select the UDO Object. Then click OK.
- Click on the Project Objects tab above the bottom grid.
- Click on the Add Existing Object button.
- In Add Object to Project form, select the UDO object type from the User Defined Object drop down list. In this example, select Grid Format.
- Click OK button.
- In Web Objects Search & Select form, find and select the UDO Object. Then click OK.

Back in Object Management Workbench - Web form, you will see the added object
under Project Objects.
12.
Ensure your project is
at 21 - Programming status. If not, first advance your project
by clicking on the Advanced Project button. Then in Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project> screen, enter 21 in the To Project field.
13.
Perform a Check-Out
and Check-In action on the UDO object under Project Objects. This is to ensure
the token is assigned for the object for your project.
- Select the checkbox beside your UDO object under Project Objects.
- Select Check Out / Reserve from the More Row Actions drop down list or you can click on the icon in the Object Actions column. The icon under Object Actions column will show a colorful icon with a red checkmark indicating object is checked out.
- Select Check In / Approve / Share from the More Row Actions drop down list or you can click on the icon in the Object Actions column again. The icon under Object Actions column will now show a colorful icon without the red checkmark indicating it is checked in.

- Select the checkbox beside your UDO object under Project Objects.
- Select Check Out / Reserve from the More Row Actions drop down list or you can click on the icon in the Object Actions column. The icon under Object Actions column will show a colorful icon with a red checkmark indicating object is checked out.
- Select Check In / Approve / Share from the More Row Actions drop down list or you can click on the icon in the Object Actions column again. The icon under Object Actions column will now show a colorful icon without the red checkmark indicating it is checked in.

Advance Project
from 21 status to 26 status. (Promoting
from DV to PY)
- Click the icon under Advance Project column in the top grid for your project. Alternatively, you can select Row Exit -> Advance Project.
- In Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project>, enter 26 in the To Project Status field. Click OK.
- Click the icon under Advance Project column in the top grid for your project. Alternatively, you can select Row Exit -> Advance Project.
- In Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project>, enter 26 in the To Project Status field. Click OK.

Advance Project
from 26 status to 28 status
- Click the icon under Advance Project column in the top grid for your project. Alternatively, you can select Row Exit -> Advance Project.
- In Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project>, enter 28 in the To Project Status field. Click OK.
- Click the icon under Advance Project column in the top grid for your project. Alternatively, you can select Row Exit -> Advance Project.
- In Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project>, enter 28 in the To Project Status field. Click OK.

Advance Project
from 28 status to 38 status (Promoting from
PY to PD)
- Click the icon under Advance Project column in the top grid for your project. Alternatively, you can select Row Exit -> Advance Project.
- In Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project>, enter 38 in the To Project Status field. Click OK.
- Click the icon under Advance Project column in the top grid for your project. Alternatively, you can select Row Exit -> Advance Project.
- In Confirm Project Status Change -- <Project>, enter 38 in the To Project Status field. Click OK.

Share the UDO object
in PY environment.
- Sign on the JPY environment on the web client.
- Enter P98220U in fast path.
- In Work with User Defined Objects form, select the User Defined Object Status = Pending Promote and User Defined Object Type = <UDO object type> (e.g. Grid Format)
- Click Find button and search for the UDO object you have promoted to PY environment.
- Select the checkbox beside the grid row. You should see the User Defined Object Status is 07 - Pending Promote.
- Select Row Exit -> Approve / Share
- The object status is now 08 - Shared.
- Sign on the JPY environment on the web client.
- Enter P98220U in fast path.
- In Work with User Defined Objects form, select the User Defined Object Status = Pending Promote and User Defined Object Type = <UDO object type> (e.g. Grid Format)
- Click Find button and search for the UDO object you have promoted to PY environment.
- Select the checkbox beside the grid row. You should see the User Defined Object Status is 07 - Pending Promote.
- Select Row Exit -> Approve / Share
- The object status is now 08 - Shared.

- Sign on the JPD environment on the web client.

- Sign on the JPD environment on the web client.
- Enter P98220U in fast path.

- Click Find button and search for the UDO object you have promoted to PY environment.
- Select the checkbox beside the grid row. You should see the User Defined Object Status is 07 - Pending Promote.

- The object status is now 08 - Shared.

users to view this UDO object (in this example, Grid Format), you will
need to grant View Access in Security Workbench for the UDO
object. Please see Document E1: SEC: Setting up View, Manage, and Action
